Start by climbing just over a mile on the highway to a trailhead on the left. This is a seriously sweet piece of singletrack. The initial climb is brutal, but once on top, it turns into a very entertaining ride. Threre\'s some flowy singletrack followed by a beautiful descent. You will have to cross some marshy land that will drive a dismount or some heavy duty mud. After you cross the meadow for the last time, the final descent back to the car is superb.
Take highway 2 south from Butte. Stop at the pullout about a mile before the summit of Pipestone Pass. You will be able spot it as it\'s just before a switchback right and there\'s a strange white adobe-looking planter thing.
